Where performance really counts

High-performance synthetic ropes effectively replace wire and chain in many applications for the Offshore Industry. Lightweight, ultra-strong synthetics reduce deck loads, while making handling lines easier, faster, and safer. They are used for everything from Supply Vessel Mooring Systems to rig barrier nets. Samson AmSteel®-Blue is the preferred rope for rig tow-out lines. Light weight, flexible, and easy to handle, it is at least as strong as the wire it replaces, yet outlasts wire by a factor of 3 to 1. Neutron-8, used in heavy lift slings, provides the strength of cable-laid wire ropes, without the handling problems and associated safety issues.

Custom engineered solutions for the most
critical applications

Samson’s R&D team has developed custom engineered solutions for riser hold-back lines that allow for more efficient, safer deployments while providing the strength and durability required in deepwater installations. Recently, Samson was called on to design and produce anchor retrieval lines for the new OMNI-Max™ gravity-installed anchor system designed by Delmar. Samson M-8 is made with 100% Dyneema® fiber in an 8-strand plaited construction. Each of the 8 strands is composed of a 3-strand core covered with a filter barrier to resist soil infiltration. The entire construction is protected from abrasion by a braided cover also made with 100% Dyneema® fiber. M-8 provides the strength required without the weight of wire and chain that affects the anchor’s trajectory.
