TIRED OF WIRE ROPE AND CHAIN?
READY TO SWITCH? IT'S EASY TO SEE WHY.
Increase productivity and safety while
reducing cost of operations
Samson’s high-strength, lightweight synthetic ropes are proven to outperform the wire ropes and chain they replace—even in the demanding environment of the modern mine. Applications where Samson’s high-performance synthetic ropes provide a safer, more efficient work place are:> Material handling winch lines
> Belt pull-in ropes
> Retrieval and towing assemblies
> Secondary safety ropes for rail cars
AmSteel®-Blue is the perfect wire
rope replacement
> Size-for-size matches wire rope strength
> Lightweight, easy-handling braided construction
> Lack of fish-hooks and broken strands mean fewer hand injuries
> Weighs 85% less than wire rope resulting in:
• Less time required for setups and hook-ups
• Increased efficiency and productivity
• Fewer injuries from handling overweight steel wire rope and chain
Reduced maintenance, longer service life
> Change-out operations are much quicker and easier
> No metal-on-metal abrasion; equipment life is extended and repairs
due to wear and tear from wire rope are eliminated
Reduced risk of injury due to snap-back
Injury due to snap-back, or recoil, is greatly reduced compared to twisted wire ropes. Upon failure, the torque-free 12-strand braided construction of AmSteel®-Blue allows the rope ends to follow a more predictable path. It travels close to the rope’s original axis. By comparison, on failure, the severed, fish-hooked ends of twisted wire rope follow a dangerous, unpredictable, helix-like path sweeping away from the rope’s axis.
The result
A level of reliability, safety and productivity that wire ropes cannot approach.
