Samson Deep Six Performs Beyond Expectation

Ferndale, WA – September 10, 2008 – Samson, the worldwide leader in performance cordage, reports that Deep Six is performing beyond expectations. Launched earlier this year, Samson Deep Six is a patent-pending 6-strand anchor line engineered to combine the firmness of a 3-strand line and the flaking ability of an 8-strand line.
Deep Six was created to fill a need between 3-strand twisted nylon anchor lines, which provide a firm construction that works well on a windlass but does not store well in the anchor locker, and 8-strand lines, which are flexible, easy to handle, and flake well into the anchor locker tend to collapse and slip on the windlass. The 6-strand Deep Six combines the best of both the 3-strand and 8-strand constructions by providing a firm, round rope that provides less windlass slippage, great energy absorption, and flaking ability for easy storage.
Terry Mangold, captain of a 74' Viking sport fisher currently cruising in Alaska, has used Deep Six since the product was released. "We anchor a lot: as many as 50 to 60 times in the past 2 months," he said recently. "We couldn't be happier with the performance of our new Deep Six anchor rode. After having an all chain rode, we love the shock absorption that Deep Six offers and immediately noticed how much more comfortable it was aboard when we set our anchor. The firm construction has excellent hold in our windlass with no slippage issues. We frequently anchor in depths of 200' or more and have confidence that Deep Six will get the job done."
"We are extremely pleased with the performance of Deep Six," says Sales Director Terry Crump. "It really is the perfect marriage of form and function."
